On Thursday, we took our students on a class trip to New York City. The day began when we arrived at the train stop at 5:30 am and ended when we crawled into our cars to drag ourselves back home at 10:10 pm. We took two trains in each direction and spent a good part of the day prowling downtown Manhattan on top of a double decker tour bus. We had a boat ride around New York Harbor to check out the bridges, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. What an experience dragging 22 special needs teens--3 of them in wheelchairs--around Times Square during rush hour! Everyone made it home safe and sound, and we all had to be back in school bright and early the next day.
